If you want to learn to work brilliantly with your emotions, it’s important to know where they fit into your life. Are they suppressed? Are they overemphasized? Are your intellectual life and your emotional life balanced, or do they fight with one another? Does your spirituality support your emotions, or does it try to shun them?
When your Earthy body, your Watery emotions, your Airy intellect, and your Fiery vision (or spiritual nature) are balanced within you, your entire life will become more balanced. When your elements are balanced, you’ll have access to your grounding, your emotional genius, your intellectual prowess, and your eagle-eyed vision.
Next month at Empathy Academy (Monday, October 1st), you can join dual-licensed DEI Trainer and Consultant Sherry Jean Olander for a 4-week exploration of your inner life, using the delightful quaternity model of Earth, Air, Water, and Fire.
Karla McLaren used this quaternity model in The Language of Emotions to explore the imbalances that occur when people throw their emotions (the Water element) out the window and try to live without them. Sherry has developed a keen and deep understanding of this elemental model, and Karla asked her to create a course to support you in bringing all aspects of your life into balance.

Join her for this online course where you’ll learn about the quaternity theory of understanding your self, and be introduced to ways to create elemental balance in your life. You’ll also be a member of a community of people who are seeking elemental balance in their own lives.
In this online class you’ll explore:
- What each of your elements represents, and how your integrated fifth element arises
- The messages in your emotions
- Your different types of intelligence
- Practical approaches to help you access the wisdom in all of the parts of yourself
- Simple self-care skills to honor your mind, body, spirit, and emotions

Elemental Balance Course Details
Dates: 4 weeks: Monday, October 1st to Friday, October 26th
Learning and Interaction Structure: Reading curriculum, forum discussions, journal questions and exercises in units, and one-hour weekly webinars, using the Zoom video conferencing program.
Time Commitment: You’ll read the course curriculum and interact in the forum on your own schedule (plan for about 2 hours each week), and you’ll meet with Sherry and your classmates for one hour in the Zoom each week.
Zoom Schedule: The Zoom meetings are scheduled based on students’ time zones and schedules. These meetings are recorded if you cannot attend.
