Emotions contain vital healing wisdom
Recent research is helping us see that emotions are vital to nearly everything we do. Though we have misunderstood emotions for centuries and treated them very poorly, we are beginning to understand their value and their power.
Emotions help us attach value to information. They help us decide whether people are safe or unsafe. They help us choose our careers. They help us choose our mates. They help us manage our relationships. They help us heal from trauma and loss. And emotions help us understand ourselves and our motivations.
Understanding emotions — and knowing how to work with them respectfully — is probably the most important thing that people can learn to do.
When people know how to listen to their emotions and work with them intentionally, they can make astonishing leaps forward in self-awareness and healing.
This awareness and healing is a major focus of mental health counseling, but surprisingly, most education programs for mental health professionals do not include information about how to work with emotions!
We want to change that.
Dynamic Emotional Integration® (or DEI) is a groundbreaking emotional awareness process that helps people access the genius in their emotions to support whole-life awareness and healing.
DEI is the first-ever fully operationalized model that teaches emotional skills for every emotion at every level of activation. DEI is a whole-life approach that helps people work directly with the most important motivators of their behaviors, thoughts, and actions: their emotions.
Since 2015, we have trained and licensed DEI Trainers and Consultants around the world, and each year, we open DEI to new students with a 5-month online education and self-awareness program called the Self-Care Track. After Self-Care, there are DEI licensing programs for people who want to become DEI professionals.
This year, we’re excited to announce a new licensing track for mental health professionals: The DEI Practitioner’s Track!
The new DEI Practitioner track begins in October!
Karla McLaren, M.Ed., licensed DEI Trainer Sarah Alexander, LCSW, and dual-licensed DEI Trainer and Consultant Amanda Ball, MS are offering a special Practitioner’s Track for counselors and therapists.
This training will, for the first time, bring DEI principles and practices into the counseling profession. We’re excited to offer this training, because we receive constant requests for referrals to counselors and therapists who work with emotions in the DEI way.
The Practitioner’s Track will begin with Self-Care in October, and our first licensed DEI Practitioners will graduate in January of 2020! This special training is open to people in these professions who want to deepen their work with DEI concepts and therapeutic applications:
- Psych Nurses
- Graduate students in the above fields
- Interns, trainees, and associates in pre-licensing programs
Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to know more.
The DEI learning process starts with Self-Care
The DEI Self-Care and Awareness Track is a 5-month program, and it is the foundation for the licensing tracks.
DEI is not merely an intellectual process; it’s experiential. Your ability to understand and work with your own emotions in this way is vital to your ability to teach DEI concepts to others.
If you complete the first 4 courses successfully, you’ll have the option to go forward into licensing.
We welcome you to Self-Care!
If you’ve been working with the processes in The Language of Emotions and The Art of Empathy, and you’d like to delve more deeply into this work, the Self-Care track begins on Monday, October 8th. You can learn more on the DEI page at Empathy Academy.
You can also send a statement of interest by email to email@example.com and include:
- Your name, contact information, location, and time zone.
- The extent of your experience with Karla McLaren’s work.
- Your chosen learning track (which can shift and change as you do).
- Your experience with online learning.
- Your plans for implementing Dynamic Emotional Integration® in your life and practice.
We welcome you to Dynamic Emotional Integration®!
